Zurich Middle Markets provides comprehensive solutions for our clients, including international programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Middle Markets team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of underwriters.
  • Oversee underwriting and pricing strategies to foster profitable growth.
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify service improvement opportunities, ensuring commercial viability and customer satisfaction.
  • Underwrite and assess new and renewal business within assigned authority levels.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) to support business retention and new business initiatives, while addressing their insurance-related needs.
  • Promote the organization's sales culture by acting as a trusted advisor for agents, brokers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles, OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles, AND
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of various lines of business.
  • Ability to manage and foster rapport within the team.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the insurance industry and relevant legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • At least 6 months of supervisory or management experience.
  • Established relationships with producers.
  • Advanced skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and effective negotiation.
  • Strong presentation skills with a focus on solutions and service orientation.
  • CPCU designation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and the insurance sector.
  • Results-oriented approach.

Compensation: Compensation for roles at Zurich varies based on several factors, including office location, role, skill set, and experience level. Zurich provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles as required by local law. Additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases.
