Job Title: Premium Bartender

Join our team as a Premium Bartender at the University of Kansas Athletics, where you will be responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to our guests.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team. As a Premium Bartender, you will be responsible for serving a wide range of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with guests and colleagues in a professional and personable manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional beverage service to guests, including serving drinks, handling cash and credit transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state and federal regulations.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits available, and be able to suggestively upsell products to guests.
  • Pour drinks responsibly, following company standards for serving size.
  • Check guests' IDs to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate a cut-off to guests as required.
  • Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
  • De-escalate intoxicated guest situations, and contact management or security as needed.
  • Request additional product or restock product as required.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling skills and be responsible for issued bank at your bar.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary workspace at all times, and maintain bar equipment in good working order.
Qualifications:
  • At least six months of experience bartending.
  • Accurate cash handling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
  • Bartending school preferred.
Physical Demands:

This position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision, and close vision.
