Job Overview

Shapco Inc is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Machine Operator. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of machinery to ensure the timely production of high-quality components for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Safely initiating and halting machine operations independently.
  • Handling the placement of raw materials and the removal of finished products from machinery.
  • Monitoring the operational status of machines.
  • Conducting quality checks on parts using specified measurement tools and knowing when to safely stop the machine.
  • Assisting with the upkeep and repair of machinery.
  • Utilizing tools and equipment to facilitate the manufacturing process.
  • Performing regular equipment inspections and troubleshooting any arising issues.
  • Supervising machine operations while executing tasks and making necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.
  • Producing components that meet manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by management.
  • Documenting all machine activities and logging completed products for record-keeping purposes.
  • Ensuring that all responsibilities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A willingness to learn and improve is essential for successful job performance.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing tools and equipment, including but not limited to lathes, CNC machines, and other mechanical devices.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects, bend, and stand or walk for prolonged periods.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
