Strategic Product Development Lead for Hunting Merchandising

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Product Development Lead for our Hunting Merchandising Team. The ideal candidate will develop and execute strategic planning for hunting merchandise, including assortment, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. This position's goals include category strategy and growth planning, product assortment selection, product development, vendor negotiations, promotions and advertisements, sales and inventory data review. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include:
• Working with the Divisional Merchandise Manager to develop and execute all aspects of strategic planning for hunting merchandise.
• Collaborating with the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Finance Teams to develop financial goals for hunting merchandise.
• Working cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, and other departments to achieve category goals for hunting products.
• Organizing and directing the review of hunting merchandise assortment performance and competitive pricing analysis.
• Overseeing vendor pricing and program negotiations for hunting products.
• Working with vendors to select the optimal assortment of hunting products for all business channels (Retail Stores, Internet, Catalog, B2B).
• Managing product specifications and collaborating with the Product Development team for sourcing and forecasting hunting products.
• Organizing and directing marketing plans for proprietary branded hunting products, working with Marketing, Photography, and other teams to execute strategies.
• Reviewing sales and inventory data to identify trends, optimize customer service levels, and maximize inventory productivity for hunting products.
• Identifying slow-moving inventory, overstocks, and other inventory issues within hunting merchandise.
• Participating in the financial planning process for hunting merchandise.
• Monitoring customer reviews and quality issues related to hunting products.
• Overseeing all product information submission to the Internet production team for hunting products.
• Identifying market trends and developing product and price structures for hunting merchandise within Bass Pro Shops Proprietary Brands.
• Developing and selecting hunting items for promotional activity (Retail Flyers, Catalogs, Digital Promotions, and more).
