Position Title:
Extrusion Technician

Location:

Reporting Structure:
Reports to Extrusion Supervisor

Shift Availability:
1st and 3rd shifts

Position Purpose:
To oversee production operations, ensuring optimal rate and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage production extrusion orders.
  • Operate related secondary equipment, such as cut-to-length machinery and post-cure ovens.
  • Prepare and run material mills to mix and refresh compounds as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to established production processes using saved parameters and standards.
  • Initiate production runs and secure first-piece approval.
  • Monitor production, maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Utilize work orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, and SOPs to perform setups and resolve issues.
  • Operate all equipment controls and interfaces proficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records using the IQMS system.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervisor, fellow Extrusion Technicians, and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • High level of organization and self-motivation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
  • Ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) related to job functions.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for job tracking.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to use hands for handling and reaching, stand for extended periods, and navigate between floors. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs is necessary.

Work Environment:
The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. Safety training will be provided to ensure a secure workplace.
