The Mathematics Educator is tasked with delivering foundational math instruction and training to students within the Career Education Center. This role involves creating personalized achievement plans and academic objectives to promote student success in the program. Collaboration with Career Technical Training (CTT) Instructors is essential to integrate applied academics into CTT curricula, enhancing overall student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    • Design, prepare, and present effective lessons that align with educational standards and objectives.
    • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and participation.
    • Employ diverse instructional techniques and resources to cater to various learning preferences.
  • Curriculum Development:
    • Work alongside the education team to create and revise curriculum materials that adhere to industry standards and educational guidelines.
    • Incorporate real-world scenarios and practical applications into lesson plans to enhance relevance and comprehension.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and modify teaching strategies as needed.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students regarding their academic performance and offer guidance for improvement.
  • Student Support:
    • Provide additional assistance to students requiring extra help in understanding academic concepts.
    • Collaborate with fellow instructors and support staff to address individual student needs and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification required.
  • Prior teaching or Job Corps experience is strongly preferred.
