Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James) is dedicated to enhancing health in Ohio and globally through innovative research, education, and patient care. Our team focuses on delivering patient care and supportive services aimed at achieving positive health outcomes, fostering patient involvement in their care plans, and minimizing hospitalization duration. The staff nurse plays a vital role in promoting staff engagement, enhancing patient experiences, ensuring quality and safety, and providing cost-effective care.

Position Summary

The Staff Nurse is accountable for managing and delivering care to patients and their families, as well as directing and supervising the nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care for patients in accordance with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required

A 2-Year College Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing.

Additional Education Desired

A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing.

Required Qualifications

A Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is required. A current Ohio license or interim permit is also necessary.

*Experience in a relevant care setting is preferred.
