Weather Forecaster III

JT4, LLC is a leading provider of engineering and technical support services to the U.S. military. We offer a unique opportunity for skilled meteorologists to join our team in developing and maintaining realistic test and training environments.

A Weather Forecaster III performs critical tasks in developing, issuing, and updating weather forecasts, warnings, advisories, and watches. The successful candidate will work closely with aircrews, air traffic control, and other base agencies to ensure safe aircraft operations.

• Develop and disseminate accurate and timely weather forecasts, warnings, and advisories
• Analyze climatic regimes, geography, terrain, and weather system characteristics to provide assistance to senior staff personnel in making go/no-go weather decisions
• Provide daily meteorological briefings and unscheduled flight briefings to support safe aircraft operations
• Analyze available weather data to determine the need for issuance of weather warnings, watches, and advisories
• Operate advanced weather radar software and rawinsonde equipment to collect and analyze weather data
• Interpret satellite imagery to aid in the weather forecast process
• Measure meteorological parameters using scientific equipment and instrumentation

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field, along with 3 years of experience in operational meteorology. Alternatively, an Associate's degree in Applied Science Weather Technology and 8 years of experience in operational meteorology may also be acceptable.

• Experience using various computer applications and software
• Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, adjust, and verify atmospheric or other meteorological data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
