Position Overview: PRN

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic surgery unit, collaborating with a skilled team to provide exceptional patient care.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Provide care during all phases of surgery, ensuring adherence to safety and procedural protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CRNA, Scrub Nurse, and Surgeon to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Sterile Field: Maintain a sterile environment and ensure that all equipment and supplies are prepared and functional.
  • Medications: Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct labeling and handling.
  • Assessments: Conduct preoperative and postoperative assessments, confirming surgical sites, drug allergies, and patient identity.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively during the transfer of care, both verbally and in written formats.
  • Patient Education: Implement patient education for postoperative care, ensuring understanding by the patient and family.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • Nursing Degree: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Certifications: Active CPR and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days of employment).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in an operating room or a critical care setting.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Emergency Situations: Ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment or assist with patient care as needed.
  • Vision and Hearing: Visual and auditory acuity with corrective devices as necessary.
