Job Summary

Griffin Dewatering is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing preventative and repair services for equipment owned by Griffin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.
  • Complete daily paperwork, including work orders, inventory, parts requests, and equipment repair estimates.
  • Report any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and materials to quickly service and repair Griffin's standard equipment.
  • Work on all units and provide service, maintenance, and hydrostatic testing.
  • Follow directives accurately and efficiently.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Help train new employees.
Requirements
  • Legal to work in the US.
  • Pass required drug and background screens.
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-5 years' experience troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
  • Experience with John Deere and Perkins engines, CAT, and Cummins.
  • Experience with vacuum, centrifugal, and submersible pumps.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of construction equipment.
  • OSHA 10 Certified.
  • Operate Forklifts.
  • Stage equipment for upcoming jobs.
  • Wash and clean equipment as needed.
Preferred Experience
  • 1 year of welding experience.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and stand.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to load, unload, and move large equipment and tools.
  • Continuous walking, stair climbing, and lifting.
  • Full range of physical motions associated with general labor work.
Compensation
  • Title and/or salary may be adjusted based on experience or skills.
