Job Title: Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Server to join our team at Rib Crib BBQ. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greeting and Seating: Greet and seat guests in a timely and courteous manner, using the standard Rib Crib greeting.
  2. Food and Beverage Service: Present menus, answer questions, and suggestively sell menu items using sizzle words.
  3. Order Taking and Relaying: Record guests' orders on checks, relay orders to the kitchen, and serve courses from the kitchen.
  4. Drink and Dessert Service: Prepare and suggest drinks, desserts, and stock service bars as determined by the establishment's size and practices.
  5. Observing and Responding: Observe guests' dining experiences and respond to any additional requests and determine when a meal has been completed.
  6. Payment and Clearing: Total bills, accept payment, or refer patrons to the Cashier, and clear and reset counters or tables at the conclusion of each meal and shift.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Communication: Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing as required to serve guests and supervise dining room activities as needed.
  2. Math and Restaurant Equipment: Understand basic math concepts as required to total costs and make change, and proficient use of restaurant equipment including headsets, microphones, and Aloha or View Touch operating systems.

Education and Experience: Minimum six months previous restaurant industry experience based on management's discretion.

Certifications/Licenses: Food Handler's Permit where applicable.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Position requires the employee to perform most of the work from a standing position for long periods of time, frequently walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, kneeling, or stooping.
  • Work may occasionally involve periods of lifting up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting not to exceed 30 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Position is in a climate-controlled establishment. Employees may be exposed to brief periods of temperature extremes of heat or cold in conjunction with internal conditions as warranted for the preservation or preparation of food handling.
