Dental Hygienist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Virginia Department of Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a mobile school-based dental sealant program in the Piedmont Health District.

• Work with school nurses and administration to support and screen school children
• Provide preventive services, including prophy's, dental sealants, and fluoride treatments
• Educate children and parents on oral health and hygiene practices
• Collaborate with local public and private dentists to refer children with treatment needs
• Practice according to remote supervision per the Regulations of the Board of Dentistry

• Must be licensed by the VA Board of Dentistry
• 2 years of work experience as a Dental Hygienist
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing
• Previous experience working with pediatric patients and providing preventive care is preferred
