Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will:
- Lead and direct assigned team members while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure age-appropriate care.
- Deliver patient-centered care by addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs of patients and their families.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, and implement interventions to promote health and well-being.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment that respects patient privacy and fosters professional behavior.
- Engage in a professional practice model by participating in shared governance and promoting clinical excellence.
- Coordinate patient care services effectively by applying care management principles and identifying clinical priorities.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required, with preference given to candidates with admission experience.
Education:
A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred unless you are a current employee of MUSC. Registered Nurses hired after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN degree within four years.
Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, either from the American Heart Association (AHA) or an equivalent organization.
