About the Facility
VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) is a comprehensive healthcare facility in Fresno, providing a wide range of medical services. The center includes a 57-bed acute care unit and a 54-bed Community Living Center, ensuring high-quality care for patients across various specialties.
Key Responsibilities
The Hematology/Oncology Physician will be responsible for delivering specialized care in the following areas:
- Conducting outpatient consultations and providing inpatient care across multiple departments.
- Performing thorough evaluations, including detailed history and physical examinations, and ordering necessary laboratory tests.
- Supervising mid-level providers and assisting in patient management.
- Executing procedures such as venous blood draws, fluid collections, and bone marrow biopsies.
- Participating in peer reviews and attending relevant medical meetings.
- Evaluating and treating patients in a dedicated Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinic.
- Possession of a current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
