We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Van Shuttle Driver to join our team at Huston-Tillotson University. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for students, faculty, and staff across the university campus and to designated off-campus locations.
Key Responsibilities- Operate university-owned vans or shuttle buses to shuttle students between Huston-Tillotson's campus and designated off-campus housing.
- Ensure a high level of customer service to passengers, assisting with on and offboarding if needed, and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or maintenance issues.
- Conduct general inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical problems or safety concerns to the Director of Campus Safety.
- May be called upon to assist with coordination of shuttle services, including special events or changes in route.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in transportation or customer service is a plus.
- Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain any required certifications or endorsements.
- Required to submit to a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
