About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Infrastructure Analyst to join our team at the State of Michigan. As an IT Infrastructure Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the business operations of state agencies through various services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, develop, test, configure, implement, remotely support and maintain a variety of hardware platforms, software installations and configuration, specific network server operating systems, and enterprise services such as E-mail client, Active Directory support and services, along with enterprise monitoring of these services for the clients of the Department of Technology, Management & Budget and State of Michigan.
  • Participate in a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, network, and telecom products in an information technology infrastructure environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize IT infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, technical notes, and other documentation as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure and apply this knowledge to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations.
Requirements
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
  • At least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or an Information Technology Student Assistant.
  • Experience with Remedy, software maintenance, and technology help desks providing customer support.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze problems using automated diagnostic programs with administrator level and elevated privileges to provide support to customers.
