The Press Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining press machinery and controls, mastering the intricacies of the pressroom, ensuring high-quality output, and thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually position rolls using a hoist into the auto splicer, create paster patterns, and operate paster controls for loading and splicing.
- Accurately spot and mount plates as per job specifications, ensuring proper alignment.
- Guide press webs over rollers and through press units, adapting to various web configurations.
- Prepare and monitor ink for printing units, ensuring optimal viscosity and flow during press runs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the press, including rollers and blankets, using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Set up and oversee press operations throughout production runs, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Handle daily operational tasks with precision, meeting production deadlines consistently.
- Track and log Abinet-roll numbers for accurate consumption reporting.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures, including attendance standards.
- Mechanical aptitude is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with team members and other departments.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Competence in reading, understanding, and composing simple instructions and correspondence.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience in press operations or printing is preferred but not mandatory.
