Job Description

W. R. Grace & Co. is seeking a skilled Chemical Operator to join our team at our South Haven Site. As a Chemical Operator, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality Active Pharmaceutical Intermediates (APIs) for the specialty pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare production materials for packaging and shipment through centrifugation, drying, milling, compaction, and classification using prescribed cGMP practices.
  • Tend tumble dryers, mills, classifiers, compactors, and centrifugal extraction equipment.
  • Complete proper documentation of all steps taken in the process.
  • Load and operate milling machines to produce material that meets customer specifications.
  • Compact and classify material to ensure proper particle size.
  • Pack out material in shipping containers and move into shipping warehouses.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping to prevent cross-contamination of material.
  • Fill out proper documentation, including batch records, AN, and log books.
  • Load and operate tumble dryers to remove moisture from products.
  • Work nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Pass a job-specific test.
  • Be clean-shaven to wear a respirator at times.
  • Pass a drug screen.
  • Pass a background check, including a criminal history check.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Strong aptitude in mathematics, chemistry, and good communication and writing skills with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Manufacturing experience of 1+ years is preferred.
  • All employees must pass a drug screen and physical.
