Position Overview: Responsible for delivering clinical patient care through the implementation of suitable treatment methodologies. Advances patient rehabilitation as necessary. Maintains accurate documentation by managing appropriate treatment records. Provides expert guidance to patients, families, and students. Ensures the maintenance of equipment and resource materials.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

Licensure and Certification: Valid State of Oklahoma Occupational Therapy License.

Experience: 0 - 6 months of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies: Proficient in presenting information and addressing inquiries from patients and families. Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting professional literature, technical procedures, or regulatory guidelines. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective reasoning abilities and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities: Provides clinical patient care by executing appropriate treatment plans. Manages a patient caseload that meets productivity benchmarks. Advances patient treatment as necessary. Maintains documentation by keeping accurate treatment records. Conducts patient evaluations as required. Establishes and achieves functional goals in accordance with discharge guidelines for each patient. Keeps treatment records updated, including re-evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and educational records in a timely manner. Offers expert instruction to patients, families, and students. Documents patient and family understanding of home programs. Conducts at least one in-service training annually for staff and other healthcare professionals. Designs adaptive devices and recommends equipment modifications based on patient needs. Assists with the training of students and volunteers. Adheres to care path guidelines for patient and family education and documentation of home programs. Maintains professional competency through ongoing educational activities. Attends a minimum of 95% of in-services and departmental meetings. Participates in at least one educational session per year. Accumulates 10 contact hours toward O.T. licensure. Complies with TJC standards. Follows established protocols for daily operations to support departmental administration. Completes accurate daily patient charge documentation. Responsible for the maintenance of equipment and resource materials. Organizes and prioritizes daily work tasks. Appropriately delegates responsibilities to support staff. Consistently adheres to departmental clock-in and clock-out standards. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.

Decision-Making: Engages in non-routine procedures under frequently changing conditions, following general instructions from supervisors.

Collaborative Relationships: Coordinates activities among team members (does not supervise). Guides peers in similar tasks (does not supervise). Provides input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or deliver them. Interacts directly with patients and/or clients. Engages with internal customers through telephone or face-to-face communication. Collaborates with external customers via telephone or in-person interactions. Works alongside other healthcare professionals and staff.
