Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team at Henrico County Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our schools and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strip, seal, wax, and buff floors to a high standard
  • Scrub and rinse floors in assigned areas, including auditoriums, libraries, and hallways
  • Damp mop a variety of rooms, including classrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment in assigned areas
  • Empty and wash garbage cans, and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including special projects and events
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good physical condition, with ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Ability to work at high altitudes and in confined spaces
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
