**Salary:** $120,000 - $150,000 per year
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Mega Fluid Systems. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, installation, and maintenance of automated systems and control systems for manufacturing or operational processes.
**Key Responsibilities:*
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of controls engineers
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
**Technical Expertise:**
You will have expertise in developing and optimizing PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming, integrating and troubleshooting control systems, including sensors, actuators, and communication networks. You should also maintain knowledge of industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, NFPA).
**Cross-Functional Collaboration:**
You will work closely with engineering, product management, and other departments to ensure alignment of control systems with business goals. Additionally, you will provide technical support and training to other teams.
**Compliance and Safety:**
You will ensure that all control systems adhere to safety regulations and standards, identifying and mitigating risks associated with automated systems.
**Documentation and Reporting:**
You will maintain detailed documentation of control systems designs, updates, and troubleshooting procedures, providing regular reports on project status, team performance, and system reliability.
**Qualifications:**
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in controls engineering or equivalent industry experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role. You should also possess proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols, as well as a strong understanding of robotics, servo systems, and process automation.
**Preferred Skills:**
A certification in project management (e.g., PMP) would be advantageous, as would familiarity with Lean Six Sigma practices and Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT integration.
**Work Environment:**
This role combines office and manufacturing/industrial settings, with occasional travel to customer sites or vendors required.
