Position Overview


The Lead Echo Vascular Technologist is responsible for overseeing and guiding the operations of the echocardiography and vascular ultrasound departments. This role involves leading projects and performing specialized tasks that are integral to the daily functions of the team.

This position acts as the primary liaison among management, staff, and physicians, addressing routine inquiries and resolving issues related to Sonographer I and II roles, as well as support personnel. The focus is on delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring compliance with established standards for safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Lead Echo Vascular Technologist may include, but are not limited to:

  • Organizing work schedules and delegating tasks.
  • Reviewing and verifying time cards for accuracy.
  • Conducting quality assurance evaluations of staff performance.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives for quality improvement.
  • Training and mentoring team members.
  • Providing constructive feedback on staff performance and identifying developmental needs.
  • Participating in the enhancement of staff skills and performance.
  • Leading special projects and conducting data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Preparing performance and metrics reports.
