Position Overview:
As the Chairperson of the LGBTQ+ Committee, you will play a pivotal role in steering the committee towards fulfilling its mission of advocating for and uplifting the voices of LGBTQ+ youth within our organization’s initiatives.

This role is voluntary and requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours each month, which includes participation in quarterly board meetings and various events.


Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership:
Direct the activities of the LGBTQ+ Committee by establishing meeting agendas, facilitating discussions, and overseeing the committee's initiatives.

Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute plans aimed at supporting and empowering LGBTQ+ youth through Brakin Out Inc.'s offerings.

Advocacy:
Champion the rights and needs of LGBTQ+ youth both within the organization and in the wider community.

Program Innovation:

Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to create and implement programs that address the specific challenges encountered by LGBTQ+ youth.


Community Outreach:
Establish and nurture relationships with LGBTQ+ organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource sharing.

Fundraising Assistance:
Support fundraising initiatives by identifying potential funding opportunities and contributing to grant proposal efforts.
