ProMedica Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care services, including taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and preparing patient rooms for visits.
- Assist healthcare providers with treatments, dressings, and other tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members, and demonstrate a caring and professional demeanor.
- Perform specialized tests, such as pulmonary function tests and phlebotomy procedures, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a recognized MA program or 1 year of experience as an MA preferred.
- Registration or certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited body required; or active license as an LPN/RN.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; must present a current BLS course card from the AHA at time of employment.
- 1 year of experience in direct patient care preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with EPIC or similar medical operating systems preferred.
- Must be able to move about the practice/department and between workstations.
- Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to occasionally push or lift medium to heavy equipment, supplies, and patients.
