About the Role

Delta-T Group is seeking dedicated Shelter Support Advocates to join our team. This role is essential in providing assistance and support to families experiencing homelessness, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster positive social interactions with residents and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety rounds within the shelter to ensure the well-being of all residents.
  • Assist in meal preparation, serving, and cleanup during shifts.
  • Respond effectively to residents in crisis, whether medical, mental health, or interpersonal.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently during each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the shelter.
  • Monitor common areas and private spaces to uphold safety and security.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and required training sessions.
  • Assist with room clean-ups and packing as necessary.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Experience working with homeless individuals, families, or at-risk populations.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are advantageous.
  • Physical ability to navigate stairs and move equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Capability to remain stationary for extended periods and engage in various physical activities.
