Position Overview
As a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients experiencing medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and regular reassessments to monitor health status.
- Perform triage assessments swiftly to address urgent medical and traumatic situations.
- Identify and report any signs of neglect or abuse to the appropriate authorities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans with defined outcomes.
- Accurately verify, document, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and documentation.
- Continuously evaluate patient progress towards care goals and document the effectiveness of interventions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency department is preferred.
- At least 1 year of general clinical nursing experience is required.
Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Licensure and Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification as required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification as mandated.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is required.
