Nurse Supervisor with Asthma Program Management Responsibilities

Job Description
">- Supervise and protect clients in their care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Represent the nursing office at weekly team meetings, fostering collaboration and open communication.
- Transcribe orders, receive verbal orders as needed, and send orders to the pharmacy according to department protocols.
- Administer medications as directed, adhering to agency policies and guidelines.
- Provide first aid when necessary, prioritizing client well-being.
- Review lab results with the Nursing Supervisor and Psychiatrist, making informed decisions.
- Distribute special menus in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor, catering to clients' needs.
- Evaluate asthmatic clients on a monthly basis or more frequently if required, maintaining accurate spirometer readings.
- Schedule individual and group asthma teaching sessions, empowering clients with knowledge.
- Participate in programs designed to promote socially acceptable habits of behavior and help clients manage medical conditions effectively.
- Utilize appropriate authority to set boundaries while clients are in the nurses' office, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all medications administered, adhering to agency policy.
- Learn and become familiar with Hillsides' pharmacy recordkeeping and legalities involved.
- Provide office coverage in the absence of the Nursing Supervisor, ensuring continuity of care.
- Prepare memos and letters as needed, effective communication being key.
- Maintain client charts accurately, filing pertinent doctor appointments and psychiatric notes.
- Transport clients to doctor appointments as required, preparing related paperwork in conjunction with the Nursing Supervisor.
- Weigh and measure clients, maintaining monthly records, promoting overall health and wellness.
Requirements
">- Effective communication skills, presenting information clearly and responding to questions from clients, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manuals and office documents, staying up-to-date with policies and procedures.
- Mental/interpersonal skills, defining problems, gathering data, analyzing information, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing time effectively, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing work demands.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and precision in tasks.
- Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints, upholding high ethical and professional standards.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, performing physical tasks as required.
- Computer literacy, using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software applications proficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
