Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist III to join our Nassau and Commack Clinical Laboratories. This role will involve assisting with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures, operating equipment carefully, and ensuring the accuracy of all tests performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Operate equipment carefully and according to procedures.
• Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.
• Assure equipment and instruments meet performance standards.
• Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the laboratory.
• Monitor staff activities to assure accurate, thorough completion of work.
• Update procedures when appropriate and assist in writing new technical procedures.
• Compile data and write validation, as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required.
• Experience with Epic LIS.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License Required.
