Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented GI Lab Technician to join our Endoscopy team at Northside Hospital Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare the procedure room and equipment, and assist with patient positioning and monitor application.
  • Procedure Support: Assist physicians and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and equipment, manipulating the scope as directed by the physician.
  • Specimen Handling: Assist with specimen collection and identification in collaboration with the physician and nurse.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain instruments and accessories in working order, including decontamination and sterilization of endoscopic equipment.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in the ongoing administration of hospital and department Quality Improvement program.
  • Patient Safety: Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment, and follow hospital and department policy and procedures for aseptic techniques, hand hygiene, and infection control.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), SGNA Associates Program Certificate for GI Techs within 12 months of start date
  • Preferred Qualifications: Completion of accredited medical assistant course, CNA/PCT Certification, SGNA Associates Program Certificate, Certified Surgical Tech
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Weekend and on-call requirements may apply.
