Job Summary

We are seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to join our Arts and Sciences Division at Central Virginia Community College. As an adjunct professor, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses and contribute to the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the Arts and Sciences Division, including but not limited to, English, mathematics, science, and social sciences
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse student populations
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements
  • Masters Degree with a minimum of 18 hours in teaching discipline; Bachelors Degree with a major in teaching field with minimum of 2 years related occupational experience; Associates Degree in teaching field with demonstrated competency in teaching field and 2 years of related occupational experience
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
