Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Tenure-Track Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses, advising students, supervising research and field experiences, and participating in curriculum development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Family and Consumer Sciences, including interdisciplinary concepts and applications.">
  • Student Advising: Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their academic and professional pursuits.">
  • Research and Field Experiences: Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research and field experiences, fostering hands-on learning and real-world application.">
  • Curriculum Development: Participate in ongoing curriculum development activities, including developing new courses and enhancing existing ones.">
  • Scholarly Activities: Engage in scholarly activities, such as grantsmanship and research, to advance knowledge in the field.">
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain linkages with agencies, businesses, and individuals in the surrounding community, promoting service-learning and internship opportunities.">
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair, contributing to the overall success of the program.">

  • Educational Background: Earned doctorate in Family and Consumer Sciences or a closely related area, such as Family Studies and Human Development.">
  • Teaching Experience: Experience teaching college-level courses and working with college-level students.">
  • Instructional Technology: Proficiency in using instructional technology for online teaching.">
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, including written communication and interpersonal skills.">
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.">
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer and technology skills relevant to the position.">
  • Interdisciplinary Understanding: Demonstrated understanding of interdisciplinary concepts and applications, with ability to integrate knowledge from various fields.">
