Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Henry Ford Health System, you will play a critical role in the performance of procedures using various isotopes for the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Under the direction of a Radiologist, you will specialize in the preparation of patients for examinations, obtaining additional information about patient medical history as necessary, and preparing procedure rooms and replenishing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
• Obtain additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
• Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
• Prepare prescribed radioactive isotopes for administration to patients.
• Review clinical data on requisition, analyze anatomical structure of patient, set up equipment, and perform the Nuclear Medicine scan.
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Must be registered Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
• Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
