Lab Support Technician Lead

As a Lab Support Technician Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Under direct supervision, you will supervise assignments within the laboratory and act as a resource to Laboratory Support Technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule, plan, delegate, and supervise assignments to ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide feedback during performance reviews and ensure daily workflow is completed following established procedures.
- Assist leadership on projects of medium complexity and size, and may orient new staff.
- Perform loading and unloading of lab specimens from automated and non-automated instrumentation, as well as perform various waived testing.
- Assist customers, including answering phones and responding to customer inquiries.
- Enter, access, and execute lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
- Assist pre-analytical laboratory staff with competency assessments and maintain laboratory supplies and work area.
- May update statistical records, labels tubes, and schedules processing runs.
- May perform moderate complexity testing, phlebotomy, and/or waived testing.
- Identify patients using two identifiers and perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
- Two years' experience as a Lab Support Technician.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
