ABOUT THE ROLE

At Columbia Sportswear, our retail team is vital to our success, with over 430 stores globally. As a Retail Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring that our customers have a memorable shopping experience. Your responsibilities will range from maintaining product availability on the sales floor to creating engaging visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and facilitating a smooth checkout process.

In the position of Retail Associate II, you will act as a brand ambassador, delivering outstanding customer service and contributing to the store's profitability. You will utilize your natural problem-solving skills and sales expertise to assist customers, answer their questions, and provide thoughtful product recommendations, all while upholding Columbia Sportswear's commitment to customer service and teamwork. This role is specifically designated for associates participating in the Designated Key Holder Program.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate merchandise, suggest suitable options).
  • Maintain high standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations.
  • Efficiently and accurately perform all cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, connecting customers to loyalty programs).
  • Contribute to store profitability by accurately handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.
  • Fulfill designated keyholder responsibilities as necessary, which may include opening and closing the store.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store computerized systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Engage in a dynamic environment that requires constant movement and may involve physical tasks (frequently adjusting/moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), with potential exposure to dust and noise.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to work in a stationary position.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may vary seasonally and in response to business trends.
