Wireless Systems Engineer for PHY Simulations

Wireless technology is integral to our devices, and we leverage advanced simulation platforms to analyze device performance under diverse radio and network conditions, providing critical insights for system architecture.

We are in search of a proficient PHY Systems Engineer with extensive knowledge in wireless technology.

This position places you at the forefront of a silicon design team focused on physical layer system and algorithm development for innovative wireless SoC products, emphasizing system design, modeling, and simulations.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will engage in pioneering efforts to create and refine simulation models for cutting-edge PHY signal processing and control algorithms that facilitate cellular modem system design and validation for high-data rate applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document project requirements, concepts, model architecture, interfaces, and APIs.
- Design and implement 4G/5G PHY models for pre-silicon simulation and verification.

- Conduct functional and performance verification of PHY models utilizing both internal and third-party testing tools, along with test data from external network vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Contribute to link-level simulator modeling, metric testing, and Base Station Model architecture and design.
- Define PHY test cases for new features and lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
- Design and develop robust multi-threaded algorithms with stringent real-time constraints, utilizing multi-core processors.
- Execute real-time profiling and optimization, including necessary redesign of existing implementations.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

The base salary range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600. Apple employees also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
