Job Title: Swim Instructor/Lifeguard

Join the British Swim School team as a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard and make a lasting impact in your community. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching swim lessons to children and adults, using our fun, gentle, and progressive methods.

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about water safety and want to make a difference in the lives of their students. As a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard, you will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Aquatics Leader and/or Business Owner(s)
  • Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment
  • Work evenings (3pm-8pm), Saturdays (8:30am- 3:30pm), Sundays (1:30pm-6pm), and some holidays as required by business needs
  • Maintain certifications throughout employment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Comfortable in and around the water
  • Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed
  • Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment
  • Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing
  • Must be at least 17-years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children
  • Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required
  • Customer service skills: 1 year preferred
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Compensation:

$14.00 per hour

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the 'Survival of the Littlest.'
