Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bakery Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department, including ordering, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bakery inventory levels, including ordering and receiving products, to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate prices and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the bakery team to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to Whole Foods Market's high standards for quality and safety.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, making recommendations to the bakery team to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, including ingredients, nutritional information, and preparation methods, to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
Requirements
  • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a bakery or food service environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and wet and dry conditions. The ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, and electric pallet jacks, is also required.
