Medical Collector Specialist

The Medical Collector Specialist at Aegis Sciences Corporation is responsible for collecting biological specimens at client sites. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a phlebotomy training program, and/or three years of experience in blood collection.
This role requires excellent customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain extreme confidentiality. The Medical Collector Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining records, obtaining insurance verification, and packaging specimens for shipment.
Responsibilities
- Foster open communication between clients and Aegis Sales Management.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection.
- Maintain the integrity of each 'Chain of Custody' and sample.
- Ensure sample requisitions are complete and all information is correct.
- Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) for sample submissions.
- Answer questions from clients/patients regarding Aegis policies.
- Complete and maintain required Compliance Training.
- Comply with all applicable safety requirements.
- Order supplies and manage budget with RSM and ASM as required.
- Verify insurance information through Passport as needed.
- Request/collect payments from patients (where applicable).
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or minimum of three (3) years of experience in blood collection required.
- Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification (where required).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and extreme confidentiality.
- Experience in the medical field is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential to success in this role.
- Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge including sending, receiving, and monitoring emails.
Estimated Salary: $42,000 - $60,000 per year
