As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service to our students, employees, and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to our customers.
  • Engage positively with all customers, campus staff, students, and guests to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Organize and deliver food and beverages to various locations on campus, including Linn Hall and the Coffee Shop.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient inventory of food and beverage items.
  • Assist the Café Office Coordinator with opening duties and provide support as needed.
  • Support the Café Business needs in areas such as cashiering, barista, dish, and prep, depending on business needs.
  • Assist with banquet and catering events at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Effectively handle customer concerns and report any issues to the Catering Coordinator.
  • Assist the Catering Coordinator in booking and securing new business.
  • Assist the Office Manager in billing customers.
  • Plan, execute, or delegate daily delivery schedules and next-day pull sheets.
  • Participate in department and pre-shift meetings.
  • Ensure all catering storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Maintain compliance with required training as designated by the supervisor.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service skills and knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-high school degree preferred.
  • Valid Iowa driver's license preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time experience in a related hospitality setting or equivalent education and experience.
