We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our team at Margaret Mary Health. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients with orthopedic needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians in the care and treatment of patients with orthopedic needs in a clinic facility.
- Maintain the cast room and orthopedic equipment and devices.
- Assist with the application and removal of casts and other related duties.
- Perform medical assisting functions, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
- Transport patients safely and efficiently.
- Assist with patient care as requested, including setting up and tearing down procedures.
- Prepare and mail preparation instructions to patients.
- Document patient information and test results in a timely manner.
- Perform venipuncture and injections safely and accurately.
- Assist with CLIA Waived testing and comply with all regulations.
- Stock rooms with appropriate supplies and maintain security systems.
- Order and maintain supplies and equipment as requested.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Able to perform basic medical assisting skills, including casting.
- Must be able to operate office and medical equipment.
- Additional education and training beyond high school is required.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Minimum of 24 months of orthopedic experience under the supervision of a licensed Provider.
- Certified Orthopedic Technologist preferred.
- Frequent use of hands, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, talking, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasionally may have to lift over 50 lbs.
