We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at York General. As a key member of our Obstetrics department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their families.

About the Role

This is a Regular Part-Time position, working nights with no call week. You will work every third weekend, providing care to patients in our 3 birthing suites. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Communicating with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition, including fetal monitoring and diagnostic study results.
  • Responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Utilizing the nursing process to assess and evaluate patient needs and problems, planning and implementing nursing care, evaluating patient response and progress toward outcomes, and revising the plan of care accordingly.
  • Providing direct patient care and implementing physician orders, including administering medications, treatments, IV therapy, meeting needs for hygiene, nutrition, positioning, and activity, and applying other interventions as needed.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of fetal monitoring, identifying FHR patterns, and treating appropriately.
  • Assessing neonate at delivery and performing neonatal resuscitation as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication skills, flexibility, and a caring attitude.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current license in the state of Nebraska.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications. CLC is preferred.
