Job Summary

Corewell Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Dearborn. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the preparation, storage, distribution, and dispensing of prescriptions under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist.

Responsibilities
  • Fills medication orders, including oral, injectable, and topical medications, and intravenous admixtures.
  • Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products.
  • Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms.
  • Inventories and restocks shelves in the immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs.
  • Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy.
  • Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital.
  • Performs necessary record keeping functions.
  • Answers telephone and assists at the Pharmacy window.
  • May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required.
  • Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner.
  • Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures.
Qualifications

Required: A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED. Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred: LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
