Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Caregiver to join our team at Monarch Care Group. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as outlined in their Service Plan.
  2. Respond promptly to resident requests and needs.
  3. Prepare and serve meals, beverages, and snacks under the direction of the Cook.
  4. Assist residents with medication administration, if trained and certified.
  5. Provide assistance with elimination needs, including incontinence care and bowel/bladder training.
  6. Ensure safe transfers, positioning, and turning of clients using effective body mechanics.
  7. Report any needed repairs or maintenance to the Administrator.
  8. Report any suspicion or evidence of elder abuse, mistreatment, or neglect.
  9. Intervene in situations involving unsafe or inadequate care and report immediately to the Administrator.
  10. Promptly answer emergency call systems, telephones, and paging systems.
  11. Participate in scheduled team meetings and community-wide meetings as requested.
  12. Participate in ongoing education and in-service training.
  13. Communicate effectively with residents, using supportive and non-threatening language.
  14. Observe and report resident physical and emotional condition changes.
  15. Apply non-sterile bandages/dressings and anti-embolism stockings (TED hose) as needed.
  16. Practice infection control principles and maintain a safe environment.
  17. Support residents with cognitive impairments, using techniques to address their unique needs and behaviors.
  18. Maintain resident confidentiality and promote their rights.
  19. Ensure a safe environment by recognizing hazards and using safe practices.
  20. Provide basic emergency care as needed.
  21. Support mental health and social service needs of residents.
  22. Complete reports and documents accurately and completely.

Requirements
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI via Live-Scan prior to employment.
  3. Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
  4. Able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
  5. Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
  6. Positive and energetic attitude.
  7. Must be professional in appearance and conduct.
  8. Must have dependable transportation and be able to work varying hours as needed.
Physical Requirements

In a typical 8-hour shift, Caregivers will routinely be required to stoop, carry, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, grip, reach, push, and pull. Caregivers will also occasionally be required to lift overhead, waist-high, or floor-level. The maximum lift will not exceed 50 pounds. Caregivers will also be required to use fine motor and manual dexterity skills in writing and grasping.
