  • Work Schedule: The position guarantees 40 hours per week, with varied day shifts typically scheduled from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Location: The primary work setting will be at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
  • Job Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiac surgery is required, specifically with FIRST ASSIST experience in CVOR.
    • Prior travel experience is essential.
    • Experience in a Trauma Level II facility is required.
    • Specific skillset required includes CVOR expertise.
    • Required skillset: First Assist in CVOR.
  • Schedule Information:
    • Shift Requirements: Variable day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
    • On Call/Call-Back: Expect to be on call one night per week, three weekends per month, with one backup per week. Additional call may occasionally be necessary.
    • Weekend and Holiday Rotation will be part of the schedule.
  • Unit Specific Information:
    • Unit Details: The role will be within the CVOR unit.
    • Float Requirements: There may be a need to float to all Central Aspirus locations as required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Radius Rule: Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau.
    • No endoscopic vein harvesting is required, as this will be managed by PAs.
    • Scrub Colors: Provided for the role.
    • The CVOR First Assist will participate in a diverse range of surgical procedures, including on and off pump CABG, valve replacements, and select robotics cases.
