Aircraft Cabinetmaker Sr Job Description

Aviation Technology Associates LLC is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Cabinetmaker Sr to join our team in Savannah, GA.

Job Summary

As an Aircraft Cabinetmaker Sr, you will be responsible for fabricating complex high-quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft. You will work under general supervision, overseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance, and training to co-workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate complex high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and handheld tools.
  • Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.
  • Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques.
  • Comply with and champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors.
  • Work with lead and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
  • Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Accept lead responsibilities when required. Mentor and train lesser-skilled technicians.
  • Oversee projects and coordinate with lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.
  • Conduct safety audits and assist team members in doing safety audits.
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.
  • Coordinate with other backshops when necessary.
  • Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products.
  • Four (4) years of experience in cabinetmaking.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of inspection and process specifications preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate.

The estimated pay rate for this position is $32.19 per hour.
