We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our team at Tigg's Canteen Services in Grand Traverse County Jail. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading meal preparations, instructing and assisting with food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of cooks to ensure efficient and high-quality meal production.
- Develop and implement recipes, menus, and food preparation plans to meet the needs of our clients.
- Supervise and train cooks on food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.
- Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably in a correctional setting.
- Ability to work well in a structured environment and lead a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Clearance approval into the facility.
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $21.00.
