Job Overview

The Town of Snowmass Village is seeking a dedicated Transit Vehicle Operator to enhance our public transportation services.

This is a seasonal, in-person role that offers full-time benefits, including year-round insurance for eligible employees.

Compensation:

  • Starting wages for new hires at $33.37 per hour
  • Hourly wage range up to $37.72
  • $1,000 sign-on bonus available
  • $800 end-of-season bonus
  • SkiPass or Recreation Benefit valued at $1500

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating a transit vehicle along designated routes, adhering to Commercial Drivers License (CDL) regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety standards.
  • Providing courteous assistance and information to community members and visitors.
  • Maintaining accurate records of vehicle condition and passenger boarding, which may require basic mathematical skills.
  • Offering directions and information to customers on various topics.
  • Communicating effectively in person and via radio.
  • Operating equipment to assist individuals with physical challenges.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A valid CDL B with airbrakes and passenger endorsement.
  • Previous experience driving a truck or bus is preferred.
  • A background in customer service.
  • Defensive driving training and/or transit coach safety training.
