Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Description

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to perform computerized tomographic scans according to established standards. You'll provide basic patient care, explain standard procedures, and answer patient questions, while maintaining equipment and preparing and maintaining documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient history and educate patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention.
  • Position patients appropriately for the applicable radiographic procedure.
  • Perform radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines.
  • Develop and evaluate radiographic results for technical quality, such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Operate head or body scanners to create a computer-generated cross-sectional image of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.
  • Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
  • Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associates of Applied Science or related field; MRTBE CT certification required.
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an imaging technologist preferred.
