POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Associate IV plays a vital role in supporting The Salvation Army's Thrift Store operations, specifically for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient store management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform tasks as directed by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, which may include restocking items, maintaining cleanliness, sorting merchandise, operating the cash register, and completing daily reports.
  2. Foster positive customer interactions by providing prompt and courteous service to all patrons.
  3. Answer phone calls in a professional manner and route inquiries to the appropriate personnel or department.
  4. Maintain a tidy and organized store environment.
  5. Execute janitorial responsibilities, including window cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, and sweeping, as assigned by management.
  6. Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. Ability to handle cash transactions, make change, and operate the cash register efficiently.
  2. Capable of following instructions with minimal supervision.
  3. Knowledge of merchandise is preferred.
  4. Strong customer service skills and rapport-building abilities.
  5. Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  6. Previous experience in retail is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
  2. Capability to grasp, push, and pull objects as needed.
  3. Ability to reach overhead comfortably.
  4. Proficient in operating a telephone.
  5. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a non-continuous basis.
  6. Skilled in processing written, visual, and verbal information.
