Job Summary

United Nissan of Reno is seeking a skilled Lube Technician to join our team. As a Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing light maintenance and repairs, including lube, oil, and filter changes, balancing and rotation of tires, and flushing cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform work outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  2. Sell lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services, maintaining related records on regular customers.
  3. Check tire pressure and add air as needed.
  4. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  5. Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  6. Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  7. Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  8. Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  9. Road test vehicles.
  10. Participate in dealership, and manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  11. Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  12. Inspect and test drive newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage, missing major components, and drivability functions.
  13. Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  14. Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean.
  15. Keep assigned shop area neat and clean.
  16. Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  17. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  18. Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  19. Report any safety issues immediately to supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful as a Lube Technician, you will need to have a strong understanding of automotive systems and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
